Tidewater Libertarian Party Business Meeting

When I arrove at the TLP meeting this morning, I was very excited to hear that two state senators were going to be at the meeting as guest speakers, just as former Delegate Mike Watson had done two weeks prior. St. Sen. Bill DeSteph was pretty fast to arrive, and when I got him alone I asked if he had any business cards and he said he would go out to his car and get some and he said he would be willing to sign one for me. When he came back, he came back with a whole stack of business cards. He handed me one and then corrected himself and said it was the "wrong one". My suspicions that he meant they were his old cards from serving in the lower house were correct, and he was willing to sign one of each. I generally prefer my business card signatures on the front, so that is usually what I request.

Following the meeting/presentation/Q&A, I was able to get to St. Sen. John Cosgrove before anyone else and he also provided a business card to sign upon the request. I also knew I needed two other people before I left. The first was former Norfolk City Council candidate Don Roby. Of course, the only thing I knew about him was that he had ran for city council somewhere, at sometime. I talked to him and was able to figure out the when, the where, and the who of his campaign. I asked if he had a business card and he said he did but it wasn't from his campaign, which was fine. He also encouraged me to contact him with regards to my campaign. The last person I needed was Virginia Beach School Board Member Laura King Hughes. She was in a lengthy conversation pertaining to her duties as a school board member. Unfortunately, I had to leave before she was done with that conversation. She noticed that I left and came to the exit, to apologize. I asked if she had a business card and she signed it for me. She said she would have just done it earlier if she had known I had a small request.
