3/26 Returns: 50/50 Hockey Cards, 2 Politicians
This Thursday left me with a larger amount of mail than usual, due to a combination 50/50, trade, and help from a facebook friend. The cards were mostly left over cards from last season (a Brampton Beast team set and a few stragglers from an RPI team set). I also had arranged to get a few customs of Graham McPhee, a senior Oilers draft pick from Boston College. I specifically wanted McPhee because when his dad was the general manager of the Capitals, I used to see him all the time but never had the foresight to get his autograph. I saw the opportunity to pick him up, and I did.

In addition to this glorious 50/50, I also received two email successes back today from politicians. The first was from Rick Neighbors, the Democratic nominee for Alabama's 4th congressional district in 2020, challenging incumbent Republican Robert Aderholt. He previously ran in the Democratic primary for the same seat in both 2018 and 2012. I had contacted Neighbors by facebook message roughly four months ago.

The second email return today comes from Iowa State Senate candidate Craig Williams, who is running in the Republican primary to replace incumbent Mark Segebart, who is not running for re-election in this 6th District.

3/24 Return: Marci Green Campbell
Tuesday brings one email return of 4 days from Utah State Senate candidate Marci Green Campbell, who is challenging incumbent Todd Weiler in the District 23 Republican primary. Campbell has a PhD from Utah State University and recently worked as an organizer for the 2019
Utah Tax Referendum.

3/23 Returns: Kevin Warth and Charles Horst
After another mail draught, I am happy to report two email successes today.
The first, at a return time of 6 days, is Iowa State Senate Candidate Kevin Warth, who is running in the 3-way Democratic primary for District 44. Republican Incumbent Thomas Greene is not seeking re-election, and leaves two Republicans vying for their nomination. Warth, a farmer from Mediapolis, is in his first run for public office. He also has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona State University. Warth also took the time to email me back and let him know if I didn’t receive anything in a week.
My second return today, with a return time of a little under 2 months, is West Virginia House of Delegates candidate Charles Horst, who is running in the Republican primary for District 62. Horst also took the time to email me back, telling me how he was inspired to get into politics because of attacks on the second amendment. Horst is currently a member of the West Virginia Citizens Defense League Board of Directors, after joining the organization a few years ago.

3/21 Returns: Steve Reeder
Earlier in the week I emailed all of the candidates running for office in both Iowa and Utah. The first one I have received back is from Steve Reeder, Republican candidate for Iowa's fourth congressional district. He is challenging Republican incumbent Steve King.

Jon Garland
This autograph of Jon Garland was given to me by my girlfriend, who lives in the Chicago metropolitan area. He pitched a complete game during the 2005 Chicago White Sox World Series championship season in his first career postseason start. It was given to her by her cousin, where it was signed in 2006 at a summer camp in California.

3/14 Returns: Keith Kidwell
I have decided to restart my blog, despite the fact that the entire world is shut down due to coronavirus, and thus autographs (especially in-person) will be sparse. My most recent autograph is an email success from North Carolina State Representative Keith Kidwell. I requested an autographed business card, and he sent me an autographed photo and an unsigned business card. Kidwell, a Republican, was first elected to the state legislature in 2018, and is running for re-election in the 79th House District in 2020.
